First, let me say that I have not been prompted in any way to write this letter or its contents.

All of the builders we interviewed were extremely professional, but it was obvious our house was just another house to be built to all of them. We selected Hess Construction over other Builders as they showed us they wanted to be involved in building our house and they were familiar with the style we were looking for.

George and Kimberly are very involved in the details that will make this house stunning. They do not simply look through catalogs and order products, they get samples and they visit the suppliers they think are right. I know George and Kimberly visit many of the suppliers in New Mexico, Arizona and Mexico in order to understand the products they will install later. George has gone into the forest to select the tree that we will use for design accents inside the house and Kimberly works through the hundreds of choices we have in order to narrow down the field and present us with style options.

A custom house can experience runaway expenses if not managed. George and Kimberly pay strict attention to the budget and will let you know if there is an area you want to upgrade or not (and they will tell you if it makes sense to spend that money or not). Many of the builders we interviewed will build anything you want as long as you keep writing checks.

The quality of the subcontractors has been extremely good to date. For example, the framers are very conscientious that they are building a quality house and are as excited about the house as we are.

If you have not had the experience of building a custom house before, you simply cannot comprehend how many choices and decisions there are. George and Kimberly make this process enjoyable by telling you when the decision is important and when it simply does not matter. And when it is important they help you through that as well by explaining the issues, they have never walked away with us feeling lost or unhappy.

In closing, Hess Construction has made our custom house construction an enjoyable experience. I would recommend them to anyone considering building a custom house.
